Recognition Awards

We have seen countless examples of our colleagues stepping up and leading in these new and challenging days. Please consider nominating a colleague who has had a considerable impact on our field in this past year. Nominations are due by December 10,  2021. 


The Digital Branding Development award is given to the school district whose personnel or human resources department has most effectively managed to leverage the power of at least one digital venue to tell their district’s employment story and provide communication to and gather information from current and prospective employees.  Nominations must include the addresses to one (or more) of the following: a website, a  Twitter handle, Instagram handle, Facebook page, LinkedIn account, etc. Please reference the rubric here Digital Branding Development Rubric and nominate a school  district here: Digital Branding Rubric  

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD  Distinguished Service Awards are presented to individuals who have made substantial contributions to IASPA, advancing or enhancing the professional visibility of the association and its purpose and/or the field of school personnel administration. These awards may be given to active members or non‐members. Please reference the Distinguished Service Rubric and nominate a colleague here: Distinguished Service  Nomination 


The Human Resources Specialist Award is given to an individual whose contributions have had significant impact on the efficiency of the human resources office and to the  field of human resources; who has distinguished him/herself through leadership service;  and is a collaborative, contributing participant in personnel functions. Mentor Awards are presented to active members of IASPA who have shown exceptional leadership by enthusiastically serving as mentors to fellow IASPA  colleagues, advancing or enhancing the field by supporting those new to school personnel administration. Please reference the Mentor Award Rubric and nominate a colleague here: Mentor Nomination 


The New Member Award is given to an active member of IASPA who has less than 3  years of experience in the field. This individual has demonstrated involvement at the local, state, and national level, though new to the field, and has distinguished him/herself in personnel administration through contributions that have had an impact on public education. PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD The Personnel Administrator of the Year is given to an active member of IASPA who has distinguished him/herself in personnel administration; is involved and a contributing participant in local, state, and national personnel functions; whose contributions have had a significant impact on public education; is a skilled manager of change and is creative in his/her approach to personnel administration; approaches personnel administrative work with a sense of humor and a sense of respect for his/her fellow man; and is currently serving in a personnel administrative position. The single most important task that Human Resources administrators perform is the hiring of staff. The teachers that we place in our classrooms each and everyday influence student and school success. Those administrators who recognize the importance of this task will search to secure the best professionals to work with our children on a daily basis. The Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators is the organization that can help you and your school district with this as well as many other personnel-related issues.
