Julia Wheaton

Dr. Julia Wheaton has worked in the field of public education for over 33 years. Currently, Dr. Wheaton serves the School Association of Special Education in Dupage County (SASED) as the Interim Chief Human Resources Officer. In June 2025, Dr. Wheaton retired from TRS and Consolidated High School District 230 as the Associate Superintendant in Orland Park which is a high school district of approximately 7500 students. Prior to this role, Dr. Wheaton served CHSD 230 as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for 10 years. Dr. Wheaton has served multiple school districts within both Will and South Cook counties as a school psychologist, special education administrator, junior high school principal, associate principal of instruction, associate principal of pupil personnel services, and principal of Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL. Dr. Wheaton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Master of Science degree in School Psychology from Illinois State University, her Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University, and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago. In addition to her professional practice, Dr. Wheaton as served IASPA in several volunteer capacities, including IASPA president in 2024. In addition, Dr. Wheaton is an adjunct assistant professor teaching School Law & Policy and Special Education Administration graduate classes at North Central College.
